The Department of Science and Technology Studies is inviting applications for a one-year visiting assistant professorship during the academic year 2005-2006. The Department seeks applicants with research and teaching expertise in areas related to biology and society to teach two courses per semester during the academic year. We are particularly interested in applicants who can teach courses on the environment or public health and medicine. A PhD in a relevant field - history of science, sociology, philosophy, science & technology studies or history of medicine - is required.

Candidates should send a letter of application, curriculum vitae, evidence of teaching ability, a writing sample and the names of two referees to Biology & Society Search Committee, Department of Science & Technology Studies, 306 Rokefeller Hall, Cornell University, Ithaca, NY 14853, United States of America.
